The difference between seeing yourself as a victim of your circumstance versus putting your pain to work for the good of others is transforming. Great good is done in the world stemming from personal pain and heartache ~ the choice is each person’s and can bring purpose and healing to those that choose to walk the path of service. Michelle DiFebo Freeman is the owner and CEO of the Carl M. Freeman Companies, a Real Estate company established in 1947, that specializes in land acquisition, land planning, development and redevelopment, and the management of award-winning, amenity-rich residential communities, neighborhood shopping centers and commercial properties. Freeman Companies also owns and operates three golf courses including, Bayside, an 18-hole, award-winning Jack Nicklaus Signature Course in Fenwick Island, DE. Michelle is a minority partner in Monumental Sports and Entertainment which owns Capital One Arena, the Washington Capitals, Wizards, Mystics and Valor Football. In 2013 Elle Magazine named her as one of the 10 Most Influential Women in Washington, D.C., she has continued to work with Elle Magazine as part of their “#ELLEAGENDA” Forum to communicate current women’s issues and initiatives. She is an active member of the Young President Organization. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
